- The U.S. Supreme Court and the ABA Model Guidelines for the Utilization of Paralegal Services has noted the following 3 criteria for use in fee petitions, which may useful as the committee defines substantive paralegal tasks for the Attorney Certification:
- The services performed must be legal in nature rather than clerical (See eg In re Dimas, LLC, 357 B.R. 563, 577)(Bankr. N.D. Calif. 2006);
- The fee statement must specify in detail the qualifications of the person performing the service (to demonstrate that the paralegal is qualified by education, training or work to perform the assigned work); and
